Performers: Michael Collins (conductor/clarinetist), HK Sinfonietta
Rating: **** (4 out of 5)
Michael Collins is one of
the best classical clarinetists of our time. He is as much an accomplished
soloist as he is a sought-after chamber music partner. In recent years, he has been trying
his hand as a conductor, taking up baton for the City of London
Sinofonia (he’s Principal Conductor). On September 13, Collins made a
one-night stop in Hong Kong to perform – and conduct – two of Mozart’s best
loved wind concertos with members of the Hong Kong Sinfonietta.
